In our workshop today we were asked to develop a character and consider how its legs, arms, eyes, ear etc would move and work. I decided on creating a sheep which was to be seen mainly from a front on view. We were then asked to make a short cell animation with the person sat next to you, using their character in the movie as well as your own. Mike had drawn a pistol..this led us to storyboarding...
We wanted the start of the animation to be the pistol looking towards a hill, this is when the sheep appears in the distance, leading you to believe that the pistol is going to kill the sheep. It then becomes apparent that this is no ordinary sheep, he is equipped with a jet pack and rocket launcher....
Above are a few key frames from the animation. We have used watercolour to make the the piece more interesting. Below you can see the final animation...
